About Me

Hello all, and welcome to the blog! My name is Grace Stiles, I have a BA in English which makes me nigh on unemployable and a vocabulary that vacillates between the erudite and the frankly insane. It tends to make people uncomfortable, or at least confused. I've been writing since I was five and around sixth grade decided that writing was all I really wanted to do in life after having already discarded separate dreams of being a missionary, an MIT grad, a restaurateur, and a professional WNBA player. You would think with all this wealth of experience behind me I would be way better at what I do, or at least know what it is I am doing. The blog is testament to the contrary.

I currently live in Milwaukee, WI, and I am trusting all of you not to come stalk me because I have no patience for that sort of thing. When I'm not writing or editing or crying about editing or trying to figure out how marketing works, I'm at my day-job at a local call center that provides phone captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing. I have very few publishing credentials behind me, but I hope to be changing that soon. I am in the process of forging a path to self-publication and we'll see where that takes me. Hopefully somewhere with air-conditioning, because that would be a super sweet addition to my current amenities. No really, paint is chipping off the walls as we speak.

In my off time I am a rabid reader, although primarily of older books, and my deepest love is the Sherlock Holmes collection. I occasionally nerd-out on the blog about the BBC show Sherlock, The Hobbit movies, and anime. It's a compulsion I've been trying to work on. There's not been much success to date.
